The Forum for Truth and Recognition (the Forum) continues to provide people with a safe and respectful space to share their experiences of child sexual abuse in Victorian government schools and certain non-government schools prior to the year 2000.

Angela Connors, Chair of the Forum, is hearing directly from people who have experienced child sexual abuse in Victorian schools by a relevant employee.

The experiences shared will contribute to a public record that recognises people’s trauma and the lifelong and far-reaching impacts of child sexual abuse.

People have the choice of meeting with Ms Connors in-person or online to share their experiences or by making a written or creative submission. Experiences can be shared anonymously, confidentially or publicly.

The Forum encourages people to participate by contacting the Forum or making a submission up until Wednesday 18 March 2026.

Ms Connors is scheduled to deliver her report to the Premier of Victoria in mid-2026.

To participate, contact the Forum on 1800 967 933 (free call) or email contact@truthandrecognition.vic.gov.au. To find out more visit our website.

Quotes attributable to Angela Connors, Chair of the Forum

I invite you to contact the Forum, share your experience, and be part of this individual and collective healing journey."

People sharing their experiences with the Forum have shown incredible strength in the face of trauma as they come forward and use their voice to build this public record."

The Forum offers a unique opportunity for people to have their experience recorded publicly and included in a report to the Premier of Victoria. It is important that we take this time to listen and learn from people’s experiences so we can better prevent and respond to child sexual abuse in Victorian schools into the future."
