Angela Connors, Chair of the Forum
Angela Connors was appointed by the Premier of Victoria as the Chair of the Forum for Truth and Recognition.
Prior to the Forum, Angela had significant experience in support services and social policy. She was a senior partner at a social purpose consulting firm, focusing on improving services for people in complex and challenging environments.
She has held executive roles at a national not-for-profit organisation focusing on delivering better outcomes for people accessing disability, aged care, child protection, out-of-home care and mental health services.
Angela drew from her experiences to build a safe and respectful for people who experienced child sexual abuse in school. She delivered her final report to the Premier of Victoria on 29 May 2026.
The public release of the report is now a matter for the Victorian Government.
Leanne McGaw, CEO
Leanne McGaw was the Chair Executive Officer of the Forum for Truth and Recognition. Leanne supported the Chair by leading a passionate and dynamic team and managed the day-to-day operations.
Leanne has extensive leadership experience in social services, out-of-home care, child protection, multicultural services, and redress. She has led several initiatives that focused on improving outcomes for children and families.
Prior to the Forum, Leanne was the Director of Redress and Lived Experience (Programs) in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, leading policy reform and programs to support people recovering from experiences of abuse and neglect in institutional settings.
Leanne brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Forum where she supported the Chair to create a safe space where people were heard, valued and included in the conversation.
The public release of the report is now a matter for the Victorian Government.
